The Rathmines Project – how did we do it? That my friends, is a very good question!

When you are truly passionate about what you do, it is true to say that it never seems like work. The BuildHer8 who co-funded and co-built this project were passionate from the start and through the plethora of lockdowns that Melbourne had to endure, they just tried to keep moving forward and progress the build, no matter how slow it was. Passion, perseverance and a little perspiration – that’s how we did it!!!

WOW – WE CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S ALMOST OVER

Our Rathmines project is complete!  We DID it!!

The South house is now on the market and we are super excited! All of the little features and design techniques have come together to create an absolutely incredible space.

IN THIS PODCAST WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE RATHMINES PROJECT – HOW DID WE DO IT?

In this episode, Kribashini discusses the process of how the design and build were completed and includes some special shout-outs to members of the BuildHer8 Team, John, and Ben Callery. Kribashini took a moment to enjoy the final product and is still amazed by the natural light and stunning views connecting the inside to all of the nature outside.

Whenever you’re working on a project, always take time to just sit in your completed product to truly appreciate how much work has gone into it and how far you’ve come.

Throughout this venture, we have filmed an in-depth, behind-the-scenes web series that will be released soon. It will include the process of the build, the designing sessions, the members of the BuildHer8 team, how we managed to keep moving forward throughout all of the challenges that arose from Covid.

  • [7:36]: Our BuildHer8 team consists of Rebeka and myself and six other women.
  • [8:20]: Architect Ben Callery pulled together the form and architecture of the house.
  • [9:27]: It’s important to be involved in the design process because questions will be fired at you and you’ll have to answer everything.
  • [9:53]: Rebeka and John did the building of the project.
  • [10:32]: All of the little pieces have to come together. How you choose these pieces to fit together forms the feeling of quality.
  • [11:07]: We chose to do a web series where we show everyone how the build happened, the BuildHer8, and how we kept moving forward through Covid and challenges.
